About Honey Crew!
Hi, my name is Brooke! I started Honey Crew Co to create closets that reflect our personalities rather than the world.
God made women way too dynamic to fit into a box of just one style--so this business blows up the box & celebrates wearing different trends, building community & dressing in a way that reflects what we love.
I'm a Jesus follower, Midwest cowgirl, gym rat, corporate girly, sunset chaser, farmer's market regular, coastal lover & girly girl. I don't fit into just one box & neither does my closet or Honey Crew :) Instead, HCC focuses on rotating curated shops rather than just one aesthetic.
This business is a 'fish & loaves' story for me--all I have is a love for curating clothes, some business acumen & a dream God placed in my heart. Whether He wants to multiply it or teach me something from it--I'm open to what this journey brings (which is a big step for an enneagram 3!!).
If you've read this far, we're officially friends:) As friends, I want to share another reason I started this business & why I feel so passionately about cultivating a community just as much as the next collection drop. I've always had a God-given desire to run my own boutique, but I wasn't planning to launch anything for a few years from now. A fear of failure, lack of time & worries of judgement held me from chasing this little dream. I was so comfortable in my bubble of someday until my world started to shift--things I felt were so sure were suddenly removed, prayers weren't being answered in a way I had hoped, my patience was (& is still) being tested & my future started to look unclear. I faced a low I hadn't expected & felt like I hit rock bottom. I'm not sure that everyone who reads this knows Jesus, but one of my favorite things about Him is that He turns out to be the rock at the bottom.
I've spent more time with God & have had my heart changed in ways that never would've happened if my plans worked out. It's funny how we don't realize what we're putting our identity into until life starts to look different than what we imagined. Spending time with the one who created my heart helped fill it again.
I also never would've felt all the arms that embraced me in this season had my plans worked out. There's something really powerful about women coming together to support each other. I'm now able to look back at a sad season & yet see a sweetness being woven throughout the story. Despite feeling the rock, there was honey. I'm not sure what God's plans are for this business but my prayers, along with profitability & clothes that reflect the inside, are for a Crew to be created--one that can bring honey when you feel like you've hit the rock.
So, thanks to a God that cares more about my heart than my plans & an amazing Crew, I started this business despite a broken heart & some really tough situations. Because even if it fails, I got my spark back & found my identity in the one who created it.
Welcome to the Crew :)
